Live jazz\, drinks and dining.\n\n\nAlexis Lombre Quartet\nAt 23\, Alexis Lombre has the work ethic of a veteran jazz star. “- Detroit Metro Times.   \nPresented by the Jazz Institute of Chicago! \nJazz Institute of Chicago Jazz Links Fellow Alexis Lombre on piano | Afonzo Jones on drums | Brooke Skye on bass | Jackson Shepard on guitar \nAlexis Lombre is a young jazz pianist who discovered early that the true essence of music is not just about what you hear but how music makes you feel. Her musical mission is to keep the ‘Soul’ in music alive. The 2017 release of her debut album\, “Southside Sounds”\, does just that\, as it is a soulful reflection of her upbringing on Chicago’s Southside. This collection of her original compositions is an attempt to pay homage to the Southside’s lively artistic\, cultural heritage. In addition to her debut record\, she was featured on “Lifetime: Tribute to Geri Allen” by The Young Detroit Jazz Giants (2018)\,  “Live The Spirit Residency Presents: The Young Masters” (2016)\, and Mikel Patrick Avery’s “Music for a 1/2 Sized Piano” (2014).  She has studied with jazz luminaries which include Willie Pickens\, Benny Green\, Geri Allen\, and Robert Hurst \nIn the May 2019\, Lombre toured the Midwest with her group\, the Alexis Lombre Trio\, and in January 2019 she toured South Africa with Englewood-Soweto Exchange that was powered by a MacArthur grant led by Ernest Dawkins. In 2017 she toured France with Bacongo Square Boulevard\, a trio comprised of French\, Congolese & American musicians. She has also played with internationally known musicians such as: James Carter\, Ernest Dawkins\, the AACM Great Black Music Ensemble\, Makaya McCraven\, Donald Harrison\, Bobby Watson\, Buster Williams\, Wadada Leo Smith\, Dee Alexander\, J Moss\, Cece Peniston\, Rudresh Mahanthappa\, and Nona Hendrix. And her band has been opening acts for Chris Dave & the Drumhedz and Marquis Hill. \nFulton Street Collective in Chicago and Prairie Moon restaurant\, 1635 Chicago Avenue in Evanston\,  are proud to offer affordable\, top notch jazz every Wednesday night from 9PM – 11PM in downtown Evanston. Prairie Moon is a favorite restaurant in Evanston serving authentic regional American cuisine and is known as Evanston’s original craft beer bar. \nEvery Wednesday a different jazz group will play from 9PM-11PM. A native of Dayton\, Ohio\, Scott began his education and professional career in jazz in nearby Cincinnati.  After graduating at the top of his class from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music\, Scott became an in-demand player in the greater Cincinnati/Dayton area.  Performance credits include regular appearances as both leader and sideman at the landmark Blue Wisp Jazz Club\, performances with powerhouse drummer John von Ohlen & the Blue Wisp Big Band\, the PsychoAcoustic Orchestra\, and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  He also performed in concert alongside legendary jazz trumpeter Clark Terry as part of a Cincinnati jazz series. \nFulton Street Collective in Chicago and Prairie Moon restaurant\, 1635 Chicago Avenue in Evanston\,  are proud to offer affordable\, top notch jazz every Wednesday night from 9PM – 11PM in downtown Evanston.
