Karli Bunn –
Karli Bunn is a Chicago-based saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator currently attending DePaul University for her master’s in jazz studies. As a Quad City native and a Northern Illinois University alum, Bunn has performed a broad context of music, including Black American music, Latin, jazz, and modern fusion styles with ensembles including the Manny Lopez Big Band, Ten of Soul, Calaveras LD, the Jack Sundstrom Quartet, and the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra. Bunn is also proficient in woodwind doubling and music technology while focusing her efforts on incorporating the aural tradition into modern innovation.
Jack Sundstrom –
Jack Sundstrom is a bassist and composer from Chicago. Jack began his musical journey at the age of 4 studying traditional Celtic music with the great Noel Rice. He has since found a love for performing all kinds of creative and improvisational music. His style blends aspects of traditions from all over the world to create a fresh unique sound world. Jack’s wide ranging musical interests have enabled him to perform with artists ranging from Ernest Dawkins to Glen Hansard. Jack has also performed with the likes of Vincent Davis, Thaddeus Tukes, Paul Wertico, and many others.
Kabir Dalawari –
Kabir Dalawari is a drummer, composer and educator based in Chicago, Illinois. As a band leader, Dalawari has showcased his band at several venues throughout Chicago such as, Constellation Chicago, Evanston SPACE, California Clipper, Hungry Brain, The Whistler,Elastic Arts, Fulton Street Collective and many more. As an educator, Dalawari holds faculty position at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and People’s Center for Cultural & Contemporary Arts, where he leads ensemble rehearsals and teaches drumset/percussion lessons. Dalawari’s debut album “Awareness” released on March 25th, 2022 which has surpassed 100k listens on Spotify. Dalawari’s artistic vision is to blend traditional Jazz Language with a contemporary approach inspired by african, indian and western roots.
