Dre Yamagucci
Biographical Info Dre Yamagucci is an American artist whose work embraces concepts of transition and time in order to more fully explore core themes of our shared humanity including our purpose and place within society, joy and authentic happiness, freedom and self-actualization. His work examines cultural systems that simultaneously encourage and restrict, depending on how the user perceives and navigates his or her environment. Dre uses a variety of mediums, including ink, oil and acrylic, while deploying modern, culturally relevant interpretations of surrealism and futurism. He has been influenced by several visual artists including MC Escher, Katsushika Hokusai, Charles White and Salvador Dali, as well as countless literary, musical, and performative artists who are too numerous to name, but have made an immeasurable impact on his understanding of humanity.
