Biographical Info Savanna Rita was born in Cape Girardeau, MO and raised in Paducah, KY. She attended Murray State University, then transferred to The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s of Fine Art. Savanna currently lives and works in Chicago, IL.

Short Description Savanna Rita is a Chicago-based artist working primarily with photography, bookmaking, and found objects. She creates work to fill the conceptual gaps left by logic and factual information with something more curious. Savanna’s process is fueled by second glances, irony, and the obscurities of daily living. She is drawn to small objects and their relationships to the people that interact with them. Savanna Rita takes inspiration from Surrealism, and is interested in concepts of architecture and interior spaces. She believes that the ways in which we inhabit these spaces physically, mentally and emotionally are effective tools for storytelling and relating to others.
