Vanessa Abron
Biographical Info From a young age, I was immersed in the arts. My father played piano while my mother filled our home with drawings, doodles, music, and songs as she went about her daily chores. Though shy as a child, I found solace and strength in creative outlets like dance, music, writing, and visual arts, allowing my mind to slip into the realm of imagination. Throughout my life, choosing a single artistic pursuit has been an ongoing challenge. It’s like asking a parent to pick a favorite child – an impossible task. As an art student in college, I often felt my offerings wouldn’t be appreciated. However, the pandemic proved to be an unexpected catalyst, granting me relief from external expectations and allowing me to reconnect with my true self. With this rediscovery came a renewed passion for painting and music. Encouraged by my niece, a fellow artist, I took an art class with her, unleashing the caged artistic beast within.

Short Description My current pieces are a harmonious blend of my love for music, an exploration of color, and an expression of emotions. In each work, you’ll find these elements represented, sometimes overtly, other times more subtly. As an abstract artist, I’ve felt apprehensive about sharing my art alongside more representational pieces. However, I’ve come to realize that art is subjective, touching people in unique ways. I’m continuously growing beyond the discomfort of fitting into preconceived notions of what an artist “should be” or how they “should show up.” Because, at its core, being an artist is about creativity and expression in all its forms.
