DANTE MILANO is a Chicago-born keyboardist blending genres such as jazz, R&B, electronic and neo-soul. Rooted in the blues and jazz, he studied with many Chicago legends and has performed nationally and internationally. After graduating from the Brubeck Institute, he released his debut album DANTE in 2021. Milano will return to Black Cat with his fiery new trio, showcasing a wide variety of new and old compositions. Classically trained, MILANO’s compositions are largely inspired by virtuosic concepts and specific fusions of ideas from various genres.
Working with musically diverse musicians for over a decade in Chicago and throughout California have led him to explore hip-hop, electronic, and pop music, which all translate through his musical style. MILANO has played and produced with artists of varying genres such as Isaiah Collier & The Chosen Few, Carl Allen, Lewis Nash, Buddy Guy, Terrell Stafford, Rodney Whittaker, Omar Apollo, Kenny Beats, Chance the Rapper, Peter Cottontail, New Direction, and many more.
Dante is also the creator and co-host of The LYTE, a popular open mic/jam session in Stockton, CA, which connects local artists of all mediums and fosters community creativity.
