Evon J. Sams is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and artist from Rockford, Illinois. Evon’s unique approach to music blends all the music he has experienced and studied, from European classical and concert band music to R&B, hip hop, and jazz. These influences help to create thoughtful, soulful music that permeates through his various instruments and compositional voice. Evon is a woodwind specialist and plays piano, bass, and drums. He was formerly the Director of Bands and Class Piano at Jefferson High School and now serves as a Backbeat Elder for Baobao Tree LLC.
