The evening will feature live painting from visual artist TBA.
Heisenberg Uncertainty Players, a 17-piece jazz big band performing all original music, performs John Dorhauer’s adaptation of Wings’ Venus And Mars. Released May 27, 1975, Venus And Mars is vintage Paul McCartney: it includes a wide array of styles and influences, and though it is not fully a concept album, several of its songs flow seamlessly from one to the next in a way that recalls the medleys on side two of The Beatles’ Abbey Road. HUP’s rendition of the album extends this concept even further, and the performance will feature all tracks from the album performed as one long, uninterrupted suite. HUP will also perform a second set of all original material.
