“In Translation”, a debut opening from Chicago area native Jess Brooks, features all Synesthetic works – Visual interpretations of music.
From the Artist:
“Synesthesia is a neurological crossover of the senses in the Parietal Lobe of the brain. Music had always produced visual sensations for me alongside the aural, and upon learning what Synesthesia was, my human experience and life assignment suddenly snapped into focus, and finally made sense.
It is my hope and intention that this body of work broadens the perspective of the viewer as it invites them to reimagine the typical, re-examine the way we process stimuli, and experience the familiar through a new lens.”
