James Davis’ Quintet features many of Chicago’s most exciting Jazz

musicians and his own compositions. The players of this group of

prominent Chicago musicians have collaborated in many varied projects,

each as a leader, composer, or band member. This group features music

composed by James Davis, as a drastic departure from his recent album

Beveled. ”

The Quintet’s last release is from a live recording at The Whistler

in Chicago from a 3-night residency in January 2016, released by The

Whistler via bandcamp.
