Fulton Street Collective presents Neil Carson’s NEW NOSTALGIA for a two-set IN-PERSON & livestream performance on Wednesday, July 7th @8pm
The evening will also feature live painting from visual artist TBA.
New Nostalgia is a Chicago-based fusion horn band specializing in hard-hitting instrumental jazz/pop arrangements for a 9-piece ensemble. Led by saxophonist and composer/arranger Neil Carson, and populated with some of Chicago’s greatest music makers, New Nostalgia straddles the jazz, pop and rock idioms, with a 5-horn frontline and a driving rhythm section. Performing electrifying originals and one-of-a-kind cover interpretations, New Nostalgia’s 2019 self-titled debut album received 4 stars from Downbeat, writing “ower-polychord instrumental rock at its finest…toying thoughtfully with form, deconstructing and reconstructing melody lines, stretching once-familiar harmonic terrains beyond recognition and soloing with soul-stirring exuberance.” New Nostalgia has stayed busy during the pandemic releasing 6 new singles and working on a forthcoming EP to be released this September.
