Origin of Animal is looking forward to returning to the Fulton Street Collective for the first time since 2020. OOA will be presenting its third annual Centennial show featuring the music of Henry Mancini. You can expect to hear unique versions of such Mancini favorites as The Days of Wine and Roses, Peter Gunn, Moon River and The Pink Panther along with some deeper cuts like Battlestar Galactica, Shades of Sennet, Lujon and The Big Heist.
Formed in 2007, Origin of Animal has evolved from a free-improv chamber group to a multi-faceted big band. The group combines elements of jazz, rock, and classical while including members from all across the Chicago music landscape. Along with creating music for dance and film, OOA also composes a wide variety of original material and has performed works from artists such as Mahler, Miles Davis, King Crimson, Thad Jones and Vivaldi.
