The Cogstet is an experimental, jazz-rooted ensemble led by Chicago-based bassist, composer, educator, and vinyl DJ Matthew “Matt” Coglianese. Centered on collective improvisation, unique compositions and the individual voice, the music unfolds in real time—balancing groove, open form, and deep listening as structure gives way to discovery.
This iteration of the group features Matt on upright bass and effects, Preyas Roy on vibraphone, Matt Davis on trombone, bansuri flute and effects, Nathan Reider on Alto Saxophone and effects and Nadav Simon on drums and percussion.
The Katja Ji Trio blends original jazz with elements of modern classical music and Korean traditional music. Her fragile and expressive voice brings intimacy to her compositions, while the trio creates dynamic conversations between piano, bass, and drums. The music moves between lyrical melodies and improvisation, offering audiences a personal, immersive, and slightly unpredictable listening experience.
