Root Motion is a six-piece group founded in the UIC School of Theater and Music. Working under the direction of distinguished Chicago trumpeter Marques Carroll, the sextet brings a mix of post-bop, latin, and contemporary jazz flavors to the table. The group features Taraz Tofighi and Gabriel Medina on tenor saxophones, TJ Flores on trombone, Lola Marcantonio on piano, Thomas Robert on bass and Sam Riddell on drums.
